The Southern Regional Health Authority says some staff members at the Mandeville Regional Hospital are traumatised by news that medical doctor Chanique Cousins is missing.

Cousins, who is 28 years old, has been missing since last Friday, and was last seen entering a white motorvehicle with her 42-year-old boyfriend, who is also missing.

Chairman of the Southern Regional Health Authority Wayne Chen says the staff is receiving support from other staff members who are trained to give counselling.

Chen says he is appealing to anyone who has information or may know the whereabouts of Cousins and her spouse to make a report to the police.

The Mandeville police say on the day Cousins went missing she called the Hospital and reported that she had a family emergency and could not report to work until Monday of this week.

The hospital alerted the police when Cousins did not turn up for work on Emancipation Day.

The disappearance of the doctor is the second incident to affect the Mandeville Regional Hospital in less than a month.

Three weeks ago, 25-year-old doctor Megan Auden, who was an intern at the hospital, died from injuries she received in a car accident in Manchester.
