In reinforcing its commitment to educational initiatives, lottery giant Supreme Ventures is hosting its two-week Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) Junior Creators Summer Camp, under the tagline 'IThink IBuild IPlay Smart'. The camp will focus on the areas of STEM - science, technology, engineering and math - and will be open to children between the ages of 8 and 11 years old.

As robotics and technology become commonplace agents of change and progress in countries worldwide, Jamaica has taken note. In line with this, the SVL Junior Creators Camp aims to increase students' interest in technology with a view to improving their performance in the sciences, which can impact their communities and the nation at large.

"We're very proud to stage this camp because we feel strongly about training young minds, equipping them to operate in this new, more fast-paced world where innovation is key," said SVL President and CEO Brian George. He continued, "We wanted to give the opportunity to young people who perhaps would otherwise not have had it, so we have asked for participation from 10 primary schools in the Corporate Area." A total of 120 students - 60 each week - will benefit.

The camp, which will be held August 8 to 19 at El Fundaciones Ltd, Hillcrest Avenue, is free of cost to all participants, and includes students from Allman Town, August Town, Clan Carthy, Iris Gelly, Mona, Mountain View, New Day, New Providence, North Street and Patrick's primary schools. SVL will undertake all costs, including transportation of the students from their locations.
