Jamaica's male and female 4x400m relay teams will seek to add to the country's medal haul when they contest the finals tomorrow.

Earlier this evening Jamaica's team of Rusheen McDonald, Peter Mathews, Nathon Allen and national champion, Javon Francis clocked a season's best 2:58.29 to win their heat.

Defending champions, the United States was second in 2:58.39.

Trinidad and Tobago was initially placed third in 2:58.84 but has since been disqualified for a lane violation.

Botswana has instead been moved up to third position.

Meanwhile, Jamaica's women's team of Christine Day, Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby, Chrisann Gordon and Novlene Williams-Mills clocked 3:22.38 to win their heat.

Great Britain finished second in 3:24.81.

However, the Jamaican will enter the final with second fastest time behind the United States, who won their heat in 3:21.42.
