Police maintain strong presence downtown Kingston

The police are maintaining a strong presence in sections of downtown Kingston despite the removal of blockades along Darling Street and Spanish Town Road.

Roadblocks were mounted yesterday afternoon as tension rose following the killing of a man on Chestnut Lane. The situation had forced the police to issue an advisory warning motorists to avoid the area.

The police say investigations are continuing and persons are being asked to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
