Sean Clacken knows what it takes to build a successful business from the ground up, having been with Hawkeye for most of the firm's 25 years of operation.

Clacken has been part of the team that delivered the most innovative security solutions to Jamaica, including electronic security solutions such as webbased vehicle-tracking service - HawkTracker - HD video surveillance, intrusion-detection and burglar alarm systems.

He will now lead the charge as Hawkeye expands its operations outside of Jamaica to provide services in other Caribbean countries.

"Having provided the most innovative security solutions in Jamaica for more than 20 years, we believe this is the right time to achieve more growth by expanding into new markets," Clacken explained.

"We are building this new business from the ground up, focusing first on delivering two primary services - guarding and vehicle tracking. Over time, we will expand to offer the full line of security solutions that we offer in Jamaica," he added.

Clacken started with the firm as a grade-one technician and has worked his way through the ranks to director of sales and, ultimately, his appointment as chief executive officer in 2013. Today, he is a shareholder of the company and sits on the board of directors.

Clacken espouses integrity, commitment to customer service and hard work - the core values of Hawkeye and which he credits for their success and his own.

"The success of our firm is built on this same foundation that our chairman Ricky Mahfood has laid. This is the number one reason I have been with Hawkeye so long, as the organisation's core values are aligned with my own," he added.

Hawkeye is now ready to translate its successful Jamaican formula in its new Caribbean markets.

"We build the business around delivering the best in service, so we spend a lot of time and investment in technology and systems to track how we deliver service to customers," Clacken indicated.

"Customers' number one concern is response time, so we track our response time performance daily. The results are used to organise our business - defining standards and making modifications to the way we do things, in order to ensure we deliver the fastest response time to emergencies," he added.

Hawkeye's business culture is built around delivering the best service in the industry, Clacken said.

"We believe in training and investing in our team members so that they will better serve our customers. At Hawkeye, we use both our internal training unit and external experts and courses to deliver training at all levels," he said.

Hawkeye also encourages self-development. individuals are urged to take personal responsibility to invest in themselves through studies. A well-stocked library with material covering a range of relevant topics is available to the team.
