A Tropical Wave is expected to deepen a trough over Jamaica during the next 24 hours, with projections for showers and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes.

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica is projecting increased rainfall for the island today into Sunday.

It says a strong Tropical Wave with an associated broad area of low pressure is currently located across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Met Service says while the system now has a 40 per cent chance of becoming a Tropical Cyclone it is expected to continue moving westward and across the south-eastern Bahamas.

The wave is expected to further deepen the trough over Jamaica during the next 24 hours, with projections for showers and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes.
