St. Ann police warn about robberies
Head of the St Ann police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, is urging motorists in St Ann not to leave large sums of money in their vehicles and to be extra careful when conducting financial transactions.
His warning comes in light of three robberies in the parish last week.
All three incidents involved motorists who had withdrawn large sums of money from financial institutions and left the cash in their motor vehicles.
Cameron says customers are being trailed from banks to various destinations, even outside of St Ann.
He says the thieves then wait for an opportunity to break into the customers’ cars.
He’s urging people to seek the assistance of the police if they are transporting large quantities of cash.
