Audrey Marks to return as Jamaica’s Ambassador to US
Foreign Affairs Minister Senator Kamina Johnson Smith has announced the return of businesswoman Audrey Marks as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States.
In a statement, Senator Johnson Smith said Ambassador Marks will assume duties in the coming weeks.
She said Ambassador Marks brings to the post a wealth of experience in diplomacy, in business and in philanthropy.
The minister said she’s confident that Marks will continue to build on the "excellent relations" Jamaica has enjoyed with its major trading and economic partner.
Marks, who has had an active career in the private sector as the Founder and Chairman of Paymaster Jamaica, served a two-year stint as Jamaica’s Ambassador to the USA from 2010- 2012.
She will replace Ralph Thomas who assumed duties in the US last September when Ambassador Stephen Vasciannie opted not to renew his contract.
