Wheatley to meet with FLOW on last weekend’s service disruption
Technology Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley is to meet with representatives of telecommunications company FLOW on Thursday regarding last weekend’s widespread service disruption.
Wheatley says at that time, he expected to receive a detailed report from FLOW.
He also says the meeting will focus on measures to prevent a recurrence.
Hundreds of FLOW customers were left without telephone and Internet services over the weekend due to what the company said was a technical fault.
It happened a week after an all-island power black-out the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) said was triggered by a human error which worsened because its protection mechanism failed.
Wheatley is now awaiting a full report from the JPS on that incident.
