JCF distances self from suspended member's speaking engagement

The Police High Command is distancing itself from any comments that could be made by one of its members, who is reportedly scheduled to speak at an event today.

Constable Wayne Hamil is listed as a panellist for today’s Caribbean Media Exchange Breakfast in Kingston.

However, the Jamaica Constabulary Force says Constable Hamil is currently on suspension after he was convicted in the Trelawny Circuit Court in July for a shooting incident.

It says as a result Constable Hamil is not in an official position and is not authorised to speak on behalf of the JCF in any matter.

The Police High Command says any views expressed at the Media Exchange should not be attributed to the JCF.
