A man said to be a farmer from Clarendon has been sentenced to three years for praedial larceny.

Forty-nine-year-old Cecil Sharpe of Park Hall District, Clarendon, was sentenced in the Chapelton court on Wednesday by Parish Judge A. Nembhard for praedial larceny.

The court heard that on December 22, 2015, the accused reportedly stole corn from a field in the community.

Charges were laid after he was arrested and he was tried and later found guilty.
