Portia to rally comrades on final day of downsized PNP conference
Hundreds of delegates of the People's National Party (PNP) are at Jamaica College in St Andrew where the private session of the PNP's annual conference is now under way.
Deputy General Secretary Julian Robinson says the private session will hear reports from several bodies including affiliates, regional organisations, the general secretary, the appraisal committee, as well as resolutions.
Former PNP president and prime minister, PJ Patterson, will also make a presentation followed by the newly elected vice presidents.
The annual conference will be opened to the public at 2:00 this afternoon when PNP President and Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller will deliver the main address.
Robinson says Simpson Miller's presentation will focus on uniting the party, following yesterday's bruising vice presidential contest at the National Arena.
