Foreign Investors Eye BPO, health sectors
Confident in Jamaica's investment climate, Dr Guna Muppuri, founder-managing director of Bioprist, is on a quest to design, develop and establish the road for a world-class medical and health sciences institution, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and ICT industries in the caribbean.
This has led to his recent acquisition of the US multimillion-dollar Jockey International USA industrial properties in Hanover.
Muppuri will be embracing additional responsibility as the president of the upcoming Bioprist Institute of Medical Sciences and Bioprist Knowledge Parks.
Meanwhile, American business tycoon W.B. Kirchner - founder of Kirchner Private Capital Group and its CEO, met with several Jamaican leaders, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness. Muppuri noted increased confidence in Jamaica's investment arena and continues to focus efforts on growing a range of businesses with input from major overseas investors.
Wide experience with agriculture
Kirchner is also co-founder and president of Crestline-Kirchner Private Equity Group, co-founder of Kirchner Food Security Group LLC, and also co-manages two funds with 18 agricultural investee companies.
He has wide experience in the agriculture and agribusiness enterprises through the full agriculture value chain. Further, he serves as a managing partner at Kirchner Portfolio Management, LLC, and was twice named Entrepreneur of the Year for agriculture ventures.
