Al Miller thanks judge for not sending him to jail
Reverend Miller this morning thanked the judge who found him guilty on a corruption charge for not imposing a prison sentence.
Miller was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice by Parish Judge Simone Wolfe Reece in July.
The popular pastor faced up to three years in prison, but was fined of $1 million when he was sentenced by Wolfe Reece last Thursday.
Speaking during a press conference today, Miller said he was happy to be speaking from the comfort of his St Andrew Church rather than from one of Her Majesty’s Hostels.
He said a custodial sentence would have created additional burden on his family.
