Wheatley to intervene in RUBiS-JGRA dispute
Energy Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley is to meet with representatives of Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA) and petroleum marketing company, RUBiS, to avert any possible disruption in the petroleum sector.
Wheatley, who is overseas on government business, says a meeting has been scheduled for Friday morning.
Yesterday, the JGRA issued a seven-day ultimatum on RUBiS over an ongoing contract dispute.
Gasolene dealers and the JGRA members are opposed to the terms in contracts being offered by RUBiS which they claim were draconian and unfair.
While they have not provided specifics, they contend that the terms place RUBiS in an advantageous position.
