St James MP begs residents to help in anti-crime fight
The West Central St James MP Marlene Malahoo Forte is appealing to her constituents to support the effort of law enforcement authorities to reduce murders in the parish.
According to Malahoo Forte, the crime situation in St James is out of control.
Last week, eight people were killed in violent confrontations in the western city and since the start of the week, there have been at least two murders.
One of the victims was a bus driver who was shot dead in his vehicle on Creek Street in downtown Montego Bay.
Two Maldon High School students who were on the bus were injured in the attack.
Malahoo Forte says while the state must act, each citizen also has a responsibility.
