High command reminds cops threat level remains at extreme
The police high command is taking no chances after information surfaced last week that gunmen are bent on murdering five police officers in retaliation for the killing of West Kingston wanted man Steve ‘Frenchie’ Allen, three weeks ago.
The high command is reminding its officers that the threat level remains 'extreme'.
Assistant Police Commissioner Assan Thompson says the police are paying particular attention to a Jaj Freeman out of Tivoli Gardens, also known as ‘Qweng'.
He says Freeman was recently pictured in a video clip circulating on social media in which he is seen running toward the police with a high-powered rifle saying the police should not be inside Tivoli Gardens.
Thompson says the threats were first picked up by Area Four’s intelligence operatives on the ground, and they intensified last week.
