Schools to focus on behaviour management
With maladaptive behaviour being dubbed by many as one of the biggest problems in Jamaican schools, a subsidiary of Real Life Ministries International, Ackee Behavioural Management Systems (Ackee BMS), which is geared towards behaviour change, has been implemented.
"Over the years, much effort has been placed on academic and athletic achievements in schools, but positive behaviour must now be seen as a key ingredient to significant academic, vocational and professional success that could be translated into the economic growth and development that a country like Jamaica needs," said CEO of Ackee BMS, the Rev Dr Cornel Simms.
He added: "The Ackee Behaviour Management System seeks to greatly improve the behaviour of students in schools in a shared praxis manner. It provides the tools for staff, students, parents and other stakeholders to be integrally involved in preventing incidence in schools and to solve issues relating to students in a manner that ultimately transforms them and keeps schools incident free."
There are two general arms of Ackee BMS, one that deals with the technology and the other is the clinic.
Ackee begins its launch on October 13 in the parish.
