Entrepreneurs and company officers in Trelawny and St James are set to benefit from the Companies Office of Jamaica’s (COJ) Mobile Office, which will be making stops in Falmouth and Montego Bay from September 28-30.

The COJ Mobile is an initiative by the Government agency to facilitate business operators becoming compliant through registration, and for those companies already registered to submit annual returns and other outstanding documents.

Under the Business Name and Companies Acts, all operators of businesses in Jamaica must register with the COJ. Businesses and companies not registered, once identified, may be brought before the courts.

The Mobile, which caters mainly to operators outside the Corporate Area, will also feature an information booth, where clients and potential entrepreneurs will be able to engage COJ officers regarding services offered and get help in completing the necessary forms.

Customers filing documents with the COJ are asked to present their business, company or personal tax registration number (TRN) in order to facilitate transactions.

The Mobile schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, September 28: William Knibb Memorial Baptist Church, 31 King Street, Falmouth, Trelawny

Thursday & Friday, September 29-30: Office of the Prime Minister, 10 Delisser Drive, Montego Bay, St James
