Simpson Miller appoints team to oversee implementation of Appraisal Committee's recommendations

Simpson Miller says the 10-member team is to be co-chaired by Former Minister and High Commissioner to the UK Aloun Assamba and Former Ambassador to China and Washington, Ralph Thomas.

President of the People’s National Party (PNP) Portia Simpson Miller, yesterday announced a 10-member team to oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the Appraisal Committee that was set up to examine the party’s loss of the February 25 General Election.

Simpson Miller says the 10-member team is to be co-chaired by Former Minister and High Commissioner to the UK Aloun Assamba and Former Ambassador to China and Washington, Ralph Thomas.

The team will include representatives from the Women's Movement, the PNPYO and the National Workers Union.

The special team will monitor the implementation of the recommendations while the Secretariat of the Party will be responsible for implementing the recommendations.

Among the recommendations Simpson Miller will be focusing on is the strengthening of the party's secretariat to make it more modern, transparent and efficient.

The special team is to start working immediately and will report to the PNP President and the Executive Committee of the Party on a monthly basis and to all meetings of the National Executive Council.
