Four more detained for lottery scamming in St James

The police this morning detained four people for lottery scamming activities in the Williamsfield area of Hampton, St James.

They were held during pre-dawn operations a day after four others were arrested in the Glendevon area.

The police say about 5 o’clock this morning, two men and two women, were taken into custody as the Area One Lottery Scam Taskforce carried out
investigations relating to lottery scamming and other financial crimes in the area.

A BMW X6 was also seized during the raid.

This operation is among several being carried out in St James, which has been plagued by an upsurge of crime and violence in recent months.

In yesterday’s operation in Long Wall, Glendevon two males and two females, were also arrested and several electronic devices seized.

Police Commissioner, Dr. Carl Williams recently reestablished the Lottery Scam Taskforce in St James to further tackle lottery-scamming activities
in Area One.
