JCF starts preparations for Hurricane Matthew

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Clifford Blake, says the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has started preparations for Hurricane Matthew.

DCP Blake, who has responsibility for Strategic Operations, says divisional commanders have been alerted to activate the hurricane plans contained in the Force’s Standing Orders.

He says preparations are in place regarding flood prone areas, crime prevention and search and rescue efforts.

DCP Blake says additional personnel will be deployed across the country.

According to him, the JCF is collaborating with other emergency agencies to support the national response efforts.
