#MappingMATTHEW: Caribbean Airlines cancels several flights

Caribbean Airlines has announced the cancellation of several flights because of the impending passage of Hurricane Matthew.

The affected flights were scheduled for Sunday, October 2 and Monday, October 3 for the following destinations: Kingston, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; New York’s John F Kennedy Airport; Pearson International in Toronto; Trinidad’s Piarco International and Antigua.

According to the airline, only two of its flights will be in operation: BW 414 from Trinidad to Kingston, departing Piarco at 7:50 a.m. and BW 415, from Kingston to Trinidad, departing Norman Manley airport at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Caribbean Airlines says affected passengers should make alternative travel arrangements or remain where they are until the system passes over the island.

The Airline said it has activated its call-out plan to contact customers travelling on the affected flights.
