Jamaica has discontinued the Hurricane Warning and replaced it with a Tropical Storm Warning for the entire island.

This means that hurricane conditions are no longer expected, but the island will face tropical storm conditions including strong winds and very heavy rains.

Residents in low lying and flood prone areas should move to higher ground.

Hurricane Matthew, is still a category four storm, packing winds of 140 miles per hour as it travels in a northward direction nearer to Haiti with a forward speed of 7 miles per hour.
