Parliament postponed as Hurricane Matthew approaches, MPs placed on standby
Tuesday's sitting of Parliament has been postponed because of the threat of Hurricane Matthew.
In a statement this afternoon, the Office of the Prime Minister said a resumption date will be announced.
Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives Derrick Smith said members of parliament should remain in their constituencies to manage the emergency coordination on the ground.
He said the should also be on standby to be called for Parliament as needed.
