NWA's Stephen Shaw examines a section of the Constant Spring roadway which sunk in the vicinity of Market Place.

Traffic along Constant Spring Road in St Andrew has been severely affected after a section of the roadway caved in close to Market Place.

Speaking with The Gleaner/Power106 News Centre a short while ago, Communication and Customer Services Manager at the National Works Agency (NWA) said two holes have developed in the northern and southern carriageways.

Although he was unable to say what caused both holes, Shaw said one of them may have been the result of a collapsed sewer main underneath the road surface.

He says the NWA is mobilising to have the area blocked off while it further examines the extent of the damage.
