Alleged thieves severely beaten in St Catherine

Two men who allegedly went on a robbery spree in Dam Head, St Catherine, yesterday, were severely beaten by residents before they were taken into police custody.

Their names have not been released by the police.

It’s alleged that the men went to the community shortly after midday and robbed a bar operator at gunpoint, making off with over $300,000.

According to reports, an alarm was raised and they were chased and held by residents.

The Gleaner/Power106 News Centre understands that both men were severely beaten before they were taken into custody by the police.
