Traffic nightmare to continue as Constant Spring Road closure continues
Corporate Area motorists are in for further traffic delays today as workmen from the National Water Commission rush to complete repairs to the broken sewer main which forced the closure of the section of Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of the Market Place.
Late last night when a Gleaner team visited the area, workmen were trying to complete the south-bound lane which leads to Half-Way Tree so that it could be reopened to traffic this morning.
However, from all indications the north-bound lane heading from Half-Way Tree towards Constant Spring will not be completed by today's deadline.
It means that motorists will have to continue using the alternative routes.
Since last Thursday when the road was closed, it has been a peak hour nightmare for motorists travelling in the corporate area.
Motorists have reported delays of up to two-and-a-half hours as they made their way via crowded alternative routes to get to their destinations.
