Hutchinson says the Government is aiming to increase Irish potato productivity by 10 per cent or 18 tonnes per hectare to achieve the target of 15 million kilogrammes of the tuber from a total cultivation of 1,200 hectares.

He was speaking at the National Irish Potato Stakeholders’ Seminar in Guys Hill, St Catherine, on Wednesday.

Hutchinson encouraged the farmers to increase their production.
