Masquerade at the mansion
'Masquerading at the Mansion' is the theme of the fund raising dinner and dance which will be hosted by Friends of Devon House on Saturday, October 22.
This event promises a fabulous evening of revelry by patrons who will be provided with a mask upon entry. Dance to the music of Fab 5 and enjoy scrumptious fare prepared by Chef Celeste Gordon on the East Lawn, near the Devon House Mansion.
Proceeds from the event will be used for the upkeep of the centuries old landmark - a house with artifacts owned by Jamaica's first black millionaire.
Chairman of the Friends of Devon House Committee, chef Celeste Gordon says there are also various projects on the property which will benefit. Allocation will be determined by the management of the mid-town landmark.
The historic Devon House is an 11-acre heritage site and has the distinction of being one of the only large green spaces in Kingston, offering free access to nearly one million people.The Friends of Devon House Philanthropic Committee is a group of volunteers formed with the mandate of creating sustainable streams of income.
The event is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism- the oversight body for Devon House.
