A Police Corporal remains hospitalised after he was shot and injured while on duty early this morning in St Ann.

He is Corporal Stevenson Walker of the St Ann’s Bay Police Division.

It is reported that Walker was conducting a spot check along the Priory main Road in St Ann when he signalled a silver Toyota Corolla to stop.

The police say the driver disobeyed.

One occupant of the vehicle allegedly opened fire hitting Walker in the leg.

He was taken to the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
