Auxiliary fee collection drops in schools, gov't makes up for shortfall
Education Minister Ruel Reid, told journalists at this morning’s post-Cabinet press briefing that auxiliary fee collection has been reduced by six per cent since the Government introduced its non-mandatory parent’s contribution policy.
Reid indicated that the Government has increased funding to schools to account for any shortfall in funding that schools may face.
He also reiterated that the education ministry has paid out over $1.4 billion in funding to schools.
The education minister said the early payment of funds to schools has resulted in more effective management in the financial affairs of schools.
