When colleagues arrived at the doctor's residence, they observed blood and alerted the police who later found his body with multiple stab wounds.

The police are still processing the Barbican, St Andrew property where the body of Young Reggae Boyz doctor Dr Martin Garwood was found this morning.

Garwood who was 40 years old, worked at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Jamaica Constabulary Force Communication Officer Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay says Garwood's colleagues went in search of him when he didn't turn up for work this morning and calls to his cell phone went unanswered.

When colleagues arrived at his residence, they observed blood and alerted the police who later found Garwood's body with multiple stab wounds.

Lindsay says information gathered suggests that the incident may have happened around 2 o'clock this morning.

She says the doctor's black Honda CR-V motor vehicle may have been taken by the killer or killers.

However, Superintendent Lindsay says there was no sign of forced entry to the doctor's residence.
