Person of interest named in stabbing death of Jamaica College student

14-year-old Jamaica College student, Nicholas Francis died after he was stabbed yesterday.

The police have named a person of interest in the death of 14-year-old Jamaica College student, Nicholas Francis, who was stabbed yesterday by a man attempting to steal his cellular phone.

He is Quacie Hart of an unknown address.

Hart is being asked to immediately surrender to the St Andrew Central Police Station.

The robbery reportedly took place on a bus near Jamaica College’s Old Hope Road campus in St. Andrew.

Francis reportedly boarded a green Toyota Coaster bus in the vicinity of Blue Castle Drive on Old Hope Road and was soon after accosted by a man who demanded his phone.

Francis resisted and was stabbed in the hand and chest by his assailant.

The student was then thrown from the bus, breaking his arm.

The driver of the bus took the student to the University Hospital of the West Indies where he died.

In the meantime, the police are appealing to passengers who were on the bus to report any information that may help in the on-going investigation.
