Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for sections of Portland, St Mary and St Ann
The Meteorological Service says a flash flood warning will remain in place for low-lying and flood prone areas in Portland, St Mary and St Ann until 5 o'clock this evening.
The Met Service has issued a flash flood watch for low-lying and flood prone areas in all remaining parishes. It says a broad trough currently across the central Caribbean continues to influence the weather across Jamaica.
The Met Service says the trough is expected to remain across the region until Monday. And it says a tropical wave is expected to move across the island later today.
As a result, the Met Service says the forecast is for thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall across sections of all parishes, particularly in northern and southeastern parishes.
A flash flood warning means that flooding has been reported or is likely to occur shortly while a flash flood watch means that flooding is possible and residents should start taking precautionary measures.
