Ardenne High School student drowns at YMCA
The Ardenne High School in St Andrew is in mourning after a 14-year old male student drowned in a pool at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in St Andrew on Tuesday afternoon.
Principal Nadine Molloy says the death has been devastating for the school.
She says the male student was at the YMCA doing community service.
Molloy says it’s not clear how he ended up in the pool and later drowned.
The student pronounced dead at hospital.
Meanwhile, head of the St Andrew Central Police, Senior Superintendent Maurice Robinson says investigators are still gathering details on the incident.
This is the second tragic death of high school student in a week.
Last Wednesday, 14-year-old Nicholas Francis from Jamaica College was stabbed to death during a robbery attempt.
