17-year-old girl chopped to death on Washington Boulevard

Detectives assigned to the Duhaney Park Police are seeking the help of the public to identify the body of a teenage girl who was chopped to death along Washington Boulevard in St Andrew yesterday.

The police say the girl, believed to be about 17 years old, was seen running along the roadway before she tripped and fell.

Soon after, she was reportedly seen being attacked by a man with a machete.

The police say she was chopped multiple times in the head and upper body and was later pronounced dead at hospital.

The attacker is now in police custody.

According to the police, the body of the teen is of brown complexion, slim build and about 5 feet 5 inches long.

The police say she was clad in a yellow blouse and a multi-coloured shorts.

They are asking anyone who may be able to assist in their investigations to contact the Duhaney Park Police at 933-2871, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
