Bay Side to Spanish Town bus operators meet with police amid protest
A meeting is now underway at the Spanish Town police station between the police and minibus operators who ply the Bay Side to Spanish Town route.
This after scores of commuters were left stranded by the withdrawal of buses.
The operators say the police have targeted them unnecessarily with traffic tickets although they are licensed to operate on the route legally.
The say the action of the police is affecting their livelihood.
Meanwhile, officer in charge of administration, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hector Cummings, says dialogue is necessary to forge a way forward.
The protest action affected students of Ascot High and other schools in Portmore.
