Change needed to gov't's crime-fighting strategy urgently – Bunting
Opposition spokesman on national security Peter Bunting says he’s alarmed at the intensity of violent criminal activity which has left 11 persons dead since yesterday morning.
He says the country has averaged 114 murders per month over the last six months.
He notes that over the past four days, three policemen and a security guard have been shot.
Bunting says the Government must urgently change its strategy to address this protracted upsurge in violent crime as the current approach is clearly not working.
