The People’s National Party (PNP) is heading to St Elizabeth today as it kicks off a series of community meetings it has dubbed 'Link Up With the People'.

The party says its president, Portia Simpson Miller, will be meeting with the people of Brompton and Black River.

The PNP says the islandwide meetings will be used to further engage Jamaicans about the local issues affecting them.

The Link Up is also aimed at reinforcing awareness of the party's councillor candidates.

The PNP says over the next ten days, party's Link Up activities will include 700 community meetings, 1,000 corner reasonings and over 2,000 walks.

The PNP is hoping to reach more than 200,000 Jamaicans between now and November 26.
