Met Office downgrades flood warning for St Mary, Portland
The Met Office has downgraded a flash flood warning for low-lying and flood-prone communities in St Mary and Portland.
The area is now under a flash flood watch until 5:00 this afternoon. A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents should take precautionary measures and stay informed.
A flash flood watch also remains in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas in St Thomas until 5:00 p.m.
The Met Office says a cold front and trough have been generating unstable weather conditions across the island. It says although the system has drifted to the east and away from Jamaica, showers and thunderstorms are still expected today.
