The police in Spanish Town, St Catherine, believe yesterday's triple murder in Thompson Pen was a reprisal.

The deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Alex McKenzie, 17-year-old Shamar Atkinson otherwise called Smokey, and Rohan Smith, 24, otherwise called Higgler, all of Thompson Pen addresses.

A fourth man who was also shot and injured remains in hospital in serious condition.

The police say the four were among persons at a bar in the community about 12:30 yesterday afternoon when gunmen entered the premises and opened fire hitting them.

They say the attack came hours after a man was murdered in nearby Jones Avenue, also in St Catherine.

He has been identified as Kevin Monroe, an employee of Grace Kennedy.

Residents in Thompson Pen have expressed fear due to an ongoing feud in the area.
