The acting head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Traffic and Highway Division has disclosed that the police have issued 384,000 traffic tickets since January.

This is over 20,000 more than the 361,000 tickets issued during the corresponding last year.

Acting Senior Superintendent of Police, Courtney Coubrie, says this is significant.

He also said the police have been using new strategies such as covert operations in unmarked vehicles to clampdown on traffic offenders.
