Motorists using footbridge in St Thomas

The main road between Hagley Gap and Nescastle in St Thomas is now impassable at the Negro River Ford in the Grass Piece community.

The river is in spate following heavy rains over the weekend.

Councillor of the Cedar Valley Division, Marsha Francis, says the situation has forced motorists to use a footbridge which she says is dangerous.

Meanwhile, the Epping Farm main road in the parish remains partially blocked following two separate landslides in the area.

The St Thomas Municipal Corporation says it has been made aware of the situation and will be making the necessary arrangements to clear the roads.
