Gov't prepared to strengthen laws against child violence
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government is prepared to strengthen legislation to better protect the children from violent attacks.
Since the start of the year several children have been murdered, prompting further concerns about their safety.
Speaking this morning at the launch of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, Holness conceded that more needs to be done to protect children.
The Prime Minister said that's why he was endorsing a multi-sector response:
Holness said violence has become normalised and has become a part of interaction.
However, it is the policy of the Government to end the use of violence as a means to seek to correct poor behaviours.
