Woman held at airport with cocaine valuing $1.2 million

The police say charges are pending against a woman who was held last night at the Normal Manley International Airport in Kingston allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine.

The police say the woman, who is in custody, is facing charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and taking preparatory steps to export cocaine.

According to the police, the woman was searched by a port security worker at a security checkpoint and packages of cocaine discovered in her bra and between her legs.

The police say she was arrested and taken to the Narcotics Headquarters where she is being processed.

The cocaine weighed approximately 2.3 pounds and has an estimated street value of $1.2 million.
