JLP snatches KSAC from the PNP
The JLP has snatched the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) from the PNP.
Taking three divisions previously held by the PNP, the JLP won 18 divisions in St Andrew while the PNP managed to hold on to 16.
In Kingston both parties won three seats after the JLP snatched the Rae Town division from the PNP.
JLP councillor for the Seivwright Gardens division, Delroy Williams last night told TVJ’s Andre Jebbison that the JLP’s victory in the KSAC is a statement that Jamaica is confident about the policies of the JLP government.
Williams, who many are eyeing to become the next mayor of Kingston, said the JLP will seek to make local government the driver of economic activity in Jamaica.
Meanwhile, defeated mayor of Kingston Angella Brown Burke last night vowed dismayed supporters at the PNP’s Old Hope Road headquarters that PNP councilors will remain vocal in the KSAC.
