NWC pays out almost $1 million for standards breaches
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) says during the July to September quarter, the National Water Commission (NWC) paid out just under $1 million to customers for breaches of Guaranteed Standards.
The OUR says the NWC committed some 424 breaches which attract a total payout of $1.33 million.
However, the utilities regulator says the NWC is yet to pay out 26 per cent of the figure for breaches committed during the July to September quarter.
It says like the JPS, most of the NWC breaches were related to estimated billing, which accounted for 37 per cent of the total breaches committed by the water commission.
