Ginger Ridge magisterial recount postponed

Published:Monday | December 5, 2016 | 12:22 PM

The magisterial recount for the Ginger Ridge Division in St Catherine has been put off until tomorrow.

The recount was filed by the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) after the People’s National Party’s Ralston Wilson won by 16 votes.

He polled 1,017 votes to the 1,001 received by the JLP’s Huit Johnson

The Electoral Office of Jamaica says 24 ballots were rejected.

It's not immediately clear why the recount has been put off from today.
