It was heaven on earth that brought to the world of Josephine and Cecil Crosby, a healthy baby boy named Kenneth Valentine Crosby. He had eight siblings - five boys and three girls.

Called Kenneth by his friends, and 'Dada' or 'Uncle Kenneth' to family members, he was born on May 21, 1921, in beautiful Panama City.

His family came to Jamaica when he was still at a tender age. They settled in Kingston and he attended Chetolah Park School.

After the death of his mother, his father sent all the kids to their grandmother in Old Braeton, St Catherine, where they settled for several years.

Kenneth grew to be a very humble individual and so it was not surprising that he found the perfect mate. He met and fell in love with Joyce Viola Daley, to whom he later got married. They had two children.

He also has one surviving sister, who lives in California.

Uncle Kenneth, 'Dada', was a kind and loving person to those who crossed his path.
